We are specialists in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and all work within local NHS CAMHS services. We have a wealth of experience in assessment and multi-disciplinary treatment of young people with a variety of mental health concerns.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
ADHD often presents in young people with some or all of the following

Inattention - struggling to focus or pay attention.

Hyperactivity - feeling restless and struggling to sit still.

Impulsivity - saying or doing things without thinking.
We offer a full assessment for ADHD in line with the NICE guideline standards and can provide recommendations of appropriate interventions or support for the young person at home and school.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
ASD can present in a variety of ways for young people and can vary in presentation dependant on the age of the patient. Some common issues noted by families include:

An unusual style of communication

Struggling with friendships

An unusual style of play in younger children

Finding changes to routine difficult

A strong sense of justice or highly literal thinking style

Unusual or obsessional interests

Sensory difficulties
We offer a full comprehensive assessment in line with NICE guidelines, including ADOS assessment. We link-in with schools and families to complete a robust assessment that allows us to provide appropriate recommendations to families, schools and employers.
Mood disorders
If you are worried about a young person's mood you might have noticed some of these symptoms:

Altered mood - lower, more irritable or angry

Struggling with motivation or focus

Negative thoughts, including self-harm
We are able to assess and treat mood disorders, incorporating psychological and/or pharmacological intervention, where appropriate.
Anxiety disorders
Feeling anxious can impact on every part of a young person's life. This can include both physical symptoms and challenging thoughts.
We know that anxiety can also be a sign of underlying difficulties for some young people.
We offer an assessment of anxiety with a tailored treatment plan to best meet the young person's needs, incorporating psychological and/or pharmacological intervention, where appropriate.
Sleep difficulties
Sleep is an important part of every young person's wellbeing. We can assess sleep concerns and help understand the underpinning barriers to good sleep. A treatment plan may include formal sleep hygiene work or consideration of pharmacological treatment if indicated.
We are able to assess and treat mood disorders, incorporating psychological and/or pharmacological intervention, where appropriate.
